Team

Evans Motorsport is a Melbourne based, professional motorsport team which competes in the Victorian and National Formula Ford Championships.

Our race team, Evans Motorsport, is focused on winning. Like our drivers, our goal is to progress in motor sport through to the top level. Evans Motorsport is also using this opportunity to build a reputation and business in motor sport, so every effort is made to provide the best opportunity for success.

For this reason we plan to enter competition with the best line up of equipment, engineering resources and driving talent available to us.

Joshua Evans – Team Manager / Owner

Evans Motorsport founder Joshua Evans has a history of success in motorsport including mechanic/crew chief for two Australian Formula Ford Championship wins and one Australian Drivers Championship.

After being an integral part of the Australian Formula Ford championship years of Tim Blanchard, David Reynolds, Dean Fiore and Nick Percat, Josh moved overseas to further his career.

He engineered Formula BMW and F3 cars in Asia, Formula Ford, Formula Renault and Formula Superleague in the United Kingdom, and worked with A1 Team Australia in 2006.

He has worked for companies such as Sonic Motor Racing Services, Alan Docking Racing, MoTeC Australia, Ralt Australia, A1 Team Australia, ART Asia, and Reon Motorsport UK.

Adam Parkinson – Crew Chief / Mechanic

Adam started work for Evans Motorsport Group in 2010, coming from the United Kingdom where he worked for crack British Formula Ford outfit Jamun Racing as their team manager.

During his time there the team amassed 5 British Formula Ford Championship victories and multiple British Formula Ford Festival wins.

This experience plays a critical role in the success of the team, and also helps to give our drivers an insight into racing in Europe.

Gerard Drew – Engineer / Data Analyst

Gerard has worked with Joshua on a number of occasions throughout his career. Both worked on David Reynolds’ Formula Ford when he first started racing in the 2002 Victorian Formula Ford Championship.

They both successfully campaigned a Formula Three team in the Asian F3 Championship, then went on to work together at Sonic Motor Racing Services – culminating with the 2007 Australian Formula Ford Championship victory with Tim Blanchard.

He has also worked for Borland Racing Developments where his duties included the design of the Australian-built Spectrum.

Nathan Jones – Mechanic / Junior Engineer

Andrew is relatively new to motorsport, but has a passion for all things mechanical. He comes to Evans Motorsport Group having successfully completed a degree in Automotive Engineering; in which he was team leader of the Deakin University Formula SAE program.

His attention to detail and engineering background help give the team a greater knowledge bank to draw from when making key decisions.

Tim Blanchard – Driver Coach / Administration

After a long and successful career in go karting, Tim won the 2007 Australian Formula Ford Championship and finished runner-up in the 2008 British Formula Ford Championship at his first attempt. He also 2010 V8 Supercar Development Series Rookie of the Year and the Championship runner-up in 2010.
